Rio: Christ the Redeemer Official Ticket by Cog Train

1. Rio: Christ the Redeemer Official Ticket by Cog Train

Go all the way up to the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer by the Corcovado Train. The train rides through a railway inside Tijuca National Park, the largest urban forest in the world, making a unique view over Rio de Janeiro city. Enjoy an amazing ride on a train that takes you right up to the foot of the statue of The Christ, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World and one of the most famous sights in Brazil. Besides admiring one of the most beautiful landscapes of the city, you will take a walk through Brazil's history. The Corcovado Railroad was the first electrified railroad in Brazil. Inaugurated in 1884 by D. Pedro II, it is older than Christ the Redeemer itself. In fact, it was the train that, during four consecutive years, transported pieces for monument’s construction. Your visit starts on the century-old electric locomotive, riding across the preserved Atlantic Forest, part of the Tijuca National Park. At the foot of the statue of Christ, you'll be able to take in the most beautiful view over the city, and see from above what makes Rio de Janeiro so special.

What people are saying about Rio de Janeiro

Great experience, you enter one of the float workshops, they explain how they make the dancers' costumes, the mechanics of the carnival contest, what the prior planning and preparations are like, as well as a video about the history of the carnival. My 8 year old son liked the tour and asked many questions that were cordially answered by the guide. As extras they let you take photos of everything, an express samba class, wearing carnival costumes and hats to take photos and some delicious Caipirinhas at the end of the tour.

our guide very knowledgeable and engaging, giving us lots of history and background. The look behind the scenes and meeting real Samba dancers, along with Samba practice and putting on costumes was fabulous, as was the complimentary drink. I was so pleased to hear that all proceeds from the tour benefit the Samba school. This was the best tour yet in Rio and I highly recommend it.

What a fantastic experience. Learned a lot from it. What a lot of information. Carnival in Rio cannot be compared with carnival in the Netherlands. Very happy that I visited Samba city and what nice people there. Completely happy with it.

Monika offered us a fantastic 4-hour tour with lots of details and information. If you have the energy to walk for 4 hours in the heat of Rio, I can highly recommend this trip.

fantastic insight into carnival. fun and guide very enthusiastic. would recommend it
