Founded 2012, Sail in Rio's objective is to promote sailing as an adventure attraction for guests visiting Rio de Janeiro. Sail in Rio programs include open group and private experiences in the protected waters of Guanabara Bay or the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean, where visitors will be able to contemplate Rio's iconic landmarks from a completely different angle. Whether our guests want to feel the thrill of sailing or just lay back on the deck and appreciate nature and Rio's landmarks, we will always prioritize comfort and safety aboard so the experience will be unforgettable! Your skipper, Captain Cassio Gurjao, owns "Kamehameha", a 40-foot sailboat, and is an experienced sailor. Born in Rio in 1956, he is fluent in English and Spanish. He is helped aboard by his son and first mate, Daniel Gurjao, born in 1986, also fluent in English and Spanish. Daniel is an experienced sailor, having sailed across the Atlantic from the Caribbean to Lisbon.
